Due to the further expansion of Scotia Medical Group, we are looking to increase our volunteer base and are now actively recruiting for volunteer paramedics and nurses to join the team.
We want all our volunteers to be caring and compassionate. The volunteer HCP roles are ideal for enthusiastic professionals who have a desire to teach and promote best practice to people of all backgrounds and experience. Additional volunteer HCP prerequisites are:
Paramedics
- Fully registered with the HCPC and not have any restrictions on practice.
- Two years post registration and proof of completed preceptorship.
- No outstanding or ongoing investigations with HCPC or any current employers.
- Be employed or working on the frontline as a paramedic for 25 hours or more in the last six months.
- Competent in working as a senior clinician or working as part of a team and confident and competent in using all medicines currently listed in JRCALC.
- Full clean Enhanced disclosure.
- Up to date with CPD and have done a minimum of 40 hours in the last two years.
Nurses
- Fully registered with the NMC and not have any restrictions on practice.
- Two year’s post registration and proof of completed flying start.
- No outstanding or ongoing investigations with NMC or any current employers.
- Be employed or working in an acute setting in the last six months.
- Must possess high standards of patient assessment & clinical care
- Comfortable with lone working and independent decision making
- Full clean Enhanced disclosure.
- Up to date with CPD and have done a minimum of 40 hours in the last two years.
Desirable:
- Completed Manual Handling, Infection Control, Recognising the sick child ongoing training at work, BLS, (eg all learnpro/ eksf or similar up to date).
- Completed ILS or ALS
