Bev Sugden

I am privileged to have joined the Scotia Media Group Team and become a board member.

I, like others within this team, have a background in Event Medical Coverage as an operational and Tactical manager as well as disaster management training. My operational experience is extensive and having worked with the American Red Cross and Canadian Red Cross I have been deployed to incidents including 9/11 and Hurricane Katrina.

Back in the U.K. I have gained experience as a tactical commander for the British Red Cross, including for severe flooding in the south of England in 2014, 2012 London Olympics,

My work background is also in managing and assisting Category 1 services in supporting and dealing with human trafficking incidents in the South West of England. Additionally I have held other roles within the British Red Cross managing Event First Aid; Disaster Management;  Ambulance Support and I was Area CQC Clinical Manager, and senior services manager

I am look forward to assisting team at SMG, utilising the skills and knowledge I have gained over the years.

My goals in the next few years are to work with the team to help design and ensure that the clinical standards are second-to-none and of the highest standards. I also hope be able to use my instructor skills to help this team as well as we train more volunteers and community groups.
